- Do not place any heavy or sharp objects on the table.
- Undercover use or storage will extend the life of the table.
- Occasionally clean the table with a soft cotton/microfibre cloth or duster.
- Spills can be removed with a damp soft sponge or cotton/microfibre cloth that has been soaked in warm water and a mild detergent.
- Stains can be removed by using either a teak cleaner (available from marine and hardware stores) or lightly sanding with a synthetic sanding pad (such as a 3m Scotch Brite pad).
Protective oil
- The teak range is supplied unfinished to preserve the timbers natural colour and beauty.
- When used outdoors the teak will develop an ash grey patina (or a golden patina if used indoors).
- Unfinished timber will absorb stains more readily than coated surfaces (but stains will fade over time as the timber darkens).
- If the table is used in a situation where there is a high incidence of spills, we recommend the application of a teak / Danish oil or similar as a protective coating.
- Apply two coats of oil initially and one maintenance coat every twelve months.
- Check if you happy with the oil colour by applying oil to a small area under top before applying to other surfaces.
